Hansen (Arthur G.) Life Sciences Research Building (HANS)
Opened in 1983, the Arthur G. Hansen Life Sciences Research Building is home to the acclaimed Purdue University Center for Cancer Research, PCCR, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.
The center combines the University’s expertise in basic cancer biology, medicinal chemistry and engineering. The four-story building comprises over 106,000 square feet and houses administrative offices, the Bioscience Imaging Facility, and multidisciplinary cancer research laboratories — all of which support the drug discovery efforts at Purdue.
Arthur Hansen was the president of Purdue from 1971-82, during which time the University grew in size, stature and breadth of academic offerings. The building is a fitting tribute to his leadership.
